Your Day, Step by Step
- Pickup from your hotel. Your driver collects you from your hotel or apartment in Kraków at the time in your confirmation. If your street is closed to traffic, we'll arrange the nearest accessible point and tell you beforehand.
- On the road to Oświęcim. Around 1.5 hours in an air-conditioned vehicle.
- Auschwitz I with your guide. Through the main gate and into the original brick blocks and their exhibitions.
- Auschwitz II-Birkenau. The railway ramp, the wooden and brick barracks, and the ruins of the gas chambers and crematoria.
- Drop-off at your hotel. You're taken back to where you're staying, about 7 hours after pickup.

Yes, your admission covers both Auschwitz I and Birkenau. The Memorial now sells tickets online only and guided slots often sell out, so we arrange them for you. We only need each traveller's first and last name at checkout.
How long does the tour take?
About 7 hours from pickup to drop-off. Around 3 hours of that is the return drive, and the rest is the guided visit to both sites, including security and the short transfer from Auschwitz I to Birkenau.
Is the tour guided in English?
Yes, every small-group tour is led in English by a guide licensed by the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial. For Italian, French or Dutch, check the dates of our standard guided tour.
What time will I be picked up?
Your pickup time appears in your booking confirmation. It's provisional, because the Memorial sets the entry times for guided groups. If it changes, you'll be notified before your tour, so please keep your phone and email to hand.
What should I bring on the day?
Bring the passport or ID card you gave when booking, because the Museum compares it with the name on your ticket. Bags must fit within 30 × 20 × 10 cm because of the airport-style security check. Pack something to drink and eat, since you won't pass a shop or restaurant during the visit, and some change for the toilets.
How much of the visit is outdoors?
Up to 70%, most of it at Birkenau, where the site is vast and open. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes for the weather, and dress respectfully. Please keep your voice low and don't eat or smoke on the grounds, and flash photography isn't allowed inside the buildings.
Can children join the tour?
Yes, as long as an adult comes with them, and we can fit a child seat for the youngest. The exhibitions are harrowing, so we recommend the visit for ages 13 and up. Please note that wheelchairs and pushchairs can't manage the route.
Can I visit Auschwitz without a tour or a reservation?
Visiting without a guide is possible, but not without a reservation: every visitor needs a timed ticket booked online in advance, and there are no walk-up sales at the gate. If you already have tickets and only need transport, our private transfer to Auschwitz gets you to the Memorial and home again at times that suit you.
Is it cheaper to book an Auschwitz tour in Kraków on the day?
Waiting until you arrive rarely pays off: tickets and seats run out, especially from April to October. Booking online ahead secures your place, and you can still cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the tour.
